Excellent – don’t listen to the other jaded reviews!, 14 Nov 2010

    This book is simply excellent.

I’m so glad I didn’t listen to some of the previous jaded reviews.

“Too basic” – The real fact of the matter is if you REALLY WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE and HAPPINESS you have to take action. Simply reading a book will not do it for you. The book is the map, but you physically have to leave your house to walk the journey that is documented. You can have a simple basic map to follow or a complicated hard map – either way the destination is the same. I know what I prefer.

“Same stuff as previous motivational books” – Look, the real fact of the matter is that truth is truth. There are only so many important life principles that are truth. They have been truth for thousands of years, THEY DON’T CHANGE. Ultimately all religious, self-help, motivational , spiritual books have the same truths in them. The skill of the author (i.e. how good the book is) is connecting with you and communicating these truths in a manner that you can internalise.

I’m not bagging on these reviewers, they have their own reasons for writing reviews such as these and I don’t judge them for it. I just didn’t want them to spoil an opportunity for those who seek genuine change in their lives.

So for those people who really want to improve their lives and are committed to improving the happiness of their lives and most importantly – those WHO WILL TAKE ACTION not simply read. I recommend you get this book.

A very simple, easy to understand method with practical steps you can take to improve yourself and help those around you.

Self-examination and improving your life can be difficult, it can take you to places you would rather forget about. However, in the end it is the best thing you can do with your limited time on this planet. Get the book – make your own decision, don’t trust my review.

It is a small monetary and time cost that could set you off on an amazing journey that you will never regret.

Reading this is a sort of “My first Motivational book” experience. Very, very basic information which was better suited to a chapter in a compendium, shamelessly padded out to ridiculous extremes in order to make a ‘book’ of presentable/sellable length. Really wish author didn’t refer to his ‘celebrity’ friends either – really diminishes the seriousness of the subject……STOP NAME DROPPING SEAN!!!

The essential message, however, is sound – good basic, common sense – something we all need to be reminded of every so often.

I like sean, I knew about him after watching some youtube videos of him giving some truly inspiring speeches on stage.

I heard about this book, which sean was promoting before it’s release and put this on my wish list to buy soe day, during my christmas shopping, I was already spending £340 on other people so I thought why not treat myself and buy this?

    So I did.

I’ve just finished reading this book, and here are my thought on it.

The book is extremely long winded and very fluffy, some of the “life lessons” that sean illustrates are extremly mediocre, sean talks about a university student who caught himself under $5000 of credit card debt, and his struggle to get out.. Oh really? Big deal.. I know so many other students who have much larger debts and manage fine.

I mean, fair-do’s everyone has different challenges in life, but all the hyperbole and over-dramatisation and making this story go on for 5+ pages or so was completely unnecessry IMO.

So is the constant emphasis on “losing weight” (I never had a weight problem and have a pretty active lifestyle in that regard). I feel like sean goes on and on about some topics, and most of the text is just tripe with actual workable solutions to be really thin on the ground.

This is yet another self help book, that needen’t be published, there are enough of these out there already!!

    I would recommened
Change your life in 7 days – paul mckenna
think and grow rich – napolean hill

as superior alternatives to this book, also any good book on CBT or sedona method would be a much better read than sean’s rehashed stuff.
