Sandisk cards are superb little pieces of technology. I use them exclusively, I think I have around 10 of various capacities and speeds.

These are the largest I own. They are very, very good value for money. I’m used to using the 2GB Extreme III cards and these are noticeably slower (slower being a relative term) when downloading images from the card onto my computer. However, it would be a bit stupid to mark it down for that as I knew they were going to be a bit slower. In a canon 5D they give me something like 430 shots, a canon 40D yields around 480 & a canon 7d around 280 (Full sized Raw + small fine jpegs).

I remember (eeeeh, when I were a lad!), not that long ago really when even a 1GB card like this cost hundreds of pounds. Now you can pick up a 8gb card for around fifteen sheets.

So full marks for an all around great product yet again

Having used and owned Ultra 2 and Extreme 3 cards I feel I can give a decent comparison of the two. The Ultra 2 card, quality wise is exactly the same as the Extreme 3. There is a speed difference in writing data in which the Extreme 3 wins hands down, but unless your camera utilises hyperspeed writing, this difference is wasted. I highly recommend this card to everyone as it’s cheap and very reliable, 2GB of space is enough for most and for value for money this card excels.

Bought this to replace a 1Gb Microdrive so I could shoot RAW files with my Fujifilm S9600. Thought that speed difference would be negligible as I presumed it was limited by the camera, however when it comes to reviewing shots (i.e. Read speed) scrolling is almost instantaneous, compared to a highly noticeable delay with the old card.
