Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Launches Gift Catalog at GiveMiracles.org to Fulfill Hospitals’ Holiday Wish Lists

Salt Lake City (PRWEB) November 08, 2012

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals today launched its new fundraising program Give Miracles, an online catalog of in-demand pediatric medical equipment, supplies and services that donors can purchase for one of the organization’s 170 member nonprofit hospitals across North America. The new catalog displayed at GiveMiracles.org features individual, crowd-funded and ultimate gift options ranging from $ 30 to $ 12 million.

Created to improve the charitable giving experience, Give Miracles provides donors with tangible evidence of their gift, from the initial donation to its final use. It is the first Impact Giving™ program of its kind, as it enables donors to: choose the gift they are giving—anything from comfort toys ($ 30) to a pediatric wheelchair ($ 970) to an entire hospital wing devoted to neonatal intensive care ($ 12 million); know the gift will go to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital; and remain engaged with ongoing email updates on the gift’s impact on the receiving hospital.

“When people donate their hard-earned money, they want to know how it is used,” John Lauck, CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, said. “The Give Miracles program lets donors be involved in the philanthropic process. They can have a direct connection to the impact their dollars are making at the local hospitals and on the kids they are supporting.”

In addition to facilitating individual purchases, GiveMiracles.org features a social fundraising platform powered by technology powerhouse Fundly (Fundly.com), allowing a donor to create a customized fundraising page that calls on their Facebook and Twitter networks for donations. This crowdfunding feature allows multiple contributions—especially helpful for purchasing a high-impact gift like a jetted physical therapy tub ($ 6,500) or organ transportation services ($ 8,500)—and each donor is notified as soon as the item is fully funded.

Crowdfunding can also be used for Give Miracles’ Ultimate Gifts that address the major needs of eight select member hospitals, including: Seattle Children’s; Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; Cook Children’s (Fort Worth, Texas); Children’s Hospital Colorado; Children’s Hospital of Chicago; Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation; and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children (Orlando, Fla.), ranging from $ 1 million to $ 12 million. These miracle-making gifts could also be purchased by single benefactors—such as corporations and foundations.

GiveMiracles.org is a proud partner of Giving Tuesday (GivingTuesday.org), the social movement calling on people to “give back” this holiday season, and is utilizing the far-reaching CMN Hospitals network of corporate partners, member hospitals and celebrity supporters to raise awareness about the importance of charitable gifts.

The online catalog is organized into five gift categories: Emergency, Preemies, Child Life, Therapy and Miracles. To learn more, visit GiveMiracles.org and for instant fundraising updates, follow @GiveMiracles on Twitter.

About Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals:

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raises funds for 170 nonprofit children’s hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. When a donation is given it stays in the community, helping local kids. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $ 4 billion, most of it $ 1 at a time. These donations support research and training, purchase equipment and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
