@micropope Yes, but if you are creating a system then you think into future, can you recycle gold like paper ? Do you have infite gold ? NO, so it will simply not work for long. Also now many people put they dollars into gold and silver. Look from the other side to the problem, you can exchange dollar for euro, you can buy stocks, comodities in other countries right ? You actualy also own other countries wealth for a piece of paper. Dollar is still covered, even better…
@LitongX1 touche. even though the gold standard may have long term stability I did not put into consideration what would happen if the gold supply ran out. But don’t we have a reserve (fort knox,& the fed)?
