Room Addition Contractor Re-Kindles Business By Helping Families Accommodate Baby Boomers and Babies

San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) August 31, 2012

In May of 2010 Danny Garcia, owner of Rhino Design Build, found himself on an airplane to Los Angeles for the final casting audition of Donald Trump’s season 10 reality series “The Apprentice” on NBC. The theme of the season was “second chance”, which is exactly what he needed after his custom home business took a severe financial hit during the recession in 2008.

Although not selected for the final casting of “The Apprentice”, Mr. Garcia came back to San Antonio with renewed energy and a burning desire to rebuild his home building and remodeling business more successful than ever. Since home values declined and mortgage requirements became stringent, many homeowners who tried to sell their homes to accommodate a growing family found themselves unable to.

Regardless of the flat real estate market, “baby boomers” continue to age and families continue to have children; therefore, the need for additional rooms and space in a home is imperative. Mr. Garcia noticed this pain-point and used it as an opportunity to help families accommodate either aging parents or their growing family without them having to move into a new home.

Rhino Design Build, no longer focused primarily on custom homes, but re-aligned the business to specialize in room additions of all sorts. Some clients needed additional rooms to accommodate their growing children and others wanted a separate “mother in law suite” or a guest house built specifically for their aging parents. Other clients wanted to make use of their garage or attic so Rhino Design Build built garage and attic conversions to meet their needs.

Mr. Garcia has spent the past the past few years advising many of his clients of the benefits of adding rooms or additional square footage to an existing home, but cautions homeowners that not all remodeling projects allow you to recoup the cost of the project if you plan on selling your home in the near future. A good contractor will walk you through the process and help you weigh these decisions.

The economy isn’t where it was before the stock market crashed, but banks have begun to loosen the restrictions on their lending requirements. With interest rates being as low as they are, now is the perfect time to consider a remodeling project out of need or desire.

If you are considering building a new home or remodeling and existing home, please feel free to contact Danny Garcia at Rhino Design Build to help you find the right solution.
